Why Travel the Fire! is going to Hong Kong!

We are currently planning a trip to Hong Kong. While much of the people that visit Travel the Fire! are heading to the Pacific Islands, anyone from Europe or Asia will probably end up in Hong Kong for a few days. It just makes sense for us to do a series on what to do and how to get around Hong Kong City.

Some thing you can look forward are:

  • Where to stay in Hong Kong?
  • How to use the transportation system
  • Street Food in Hong Kong
  • Using the trains in Hong Kong
  • Guide to Hong Kong Airport
  • Nightlife in Hong Kong
  • Cost of travel in Hong Kong

This is a trip where we are going to try and show you how to do it as cheaply as possible. I realize that the walled City has a reputation that it is very expensive and out of budget for most travelers. However, this is just not true if you know how to move around the city and where to go.

I personally am excited about this trip because it is one of my favorite cities in the world to visit and the people of Hong Kong are some of the most professional people I know of anywhere. They do things right and they do them with excellence. That is something you don’t always seen as you travel around the world.

Importance of Hong Kong to Pacific travelers

As I said, many of the flights to the Pacific from Europe and Asia start in Hong Kong. I have used (and recommend) the Fiji Airways trip from Hong Kong to Nadi.

There is a very high chance that you are going to end up in the city and you need to know what to do and not be afraid of the sticker price that some blogs put out there.

In the meantime, check out this guide to getting around Hong Kong that I have found.
